There will be changes to the 1LS kit this coming fall. We are going with Painted Lady butterfly's replacing the Monarch. Most of the materials in the kit stays the same, however there are a few changes. The "Monarch Circle Game" card set has been renamed to "Painted Lady Circle Game" with a couple changes to a couple of the cards.
The picture: Monarch/Chrysalis have changed to Painted Lady; the Monarch Egg picture has changed to Painted Lady Egg picture. Also, six additional rulers have been added, 2-safety pins (for pinning the filter paper with the Painted Lady Chrysalis to the side of the habitat tower). We are packing our new kits with deli containers instead of the deli lids to put the honey solution soaked sponge in.
Please note there will be changes to the Teacher's guide posted to the web in a week or so. Also, you will want to recycle all leftover student journals and order new journals that reference the Painted Lady.
