Key Expectations as we Transition to Extended Online Learning Opportunities
Learning opportunities will continue in Fraser. Like many other things in our lives, this will look a little different. These plans are still developing, and though they will not be the same as what we enjoy now, students in our classrooms with our teachers, learning will continue in a different way for our students. Key Points:
We are cancelling March 16th DPPD, but we will be rescheduling this date for later in the week. That date will be sent out on Monday. It will be on-site for all FEA members.
We will be providing more information on Monday, March 16th regarding our expectations as we transition to Extended Online Learning Opportunities.
We will be providing students with online instruction and assignments.
K-6 Teachers will continue to maintain and update their homeroom course in ITS. This will be the primary means of communicating opportunities to students, The course will continue to include activities related to core content incorporating the resources below where appropriate. In an attempt to keep things consistent, staff will refrain from introducing new resources that may frustrate or confuse students by requiring username/password information not previously created. Not all learning opportunities will be digital. Teachers will use their homeroom course to communicate assignments utilizing other resources sent home/at home (ie. reading a text). In an attempt to keep things manageable for students, please keep student directions clear regarding the task:
What is the task?
How will students share their work with you?
What is your expected due date?
Please remember that our students’ home schedules and support will vary and we need to have compassion in this time of broken routines and changing expectations. Below are resources that may assist as you adapt your lessons to accommodate online learning. A list of additional online resources will be provided in the upcoming DPPD.
