- Explore the M-STEP DRC Site and practice assessments on the DRC Site (use Google Chrome)
- Plan Classroom M-STEP activities. Specific Grade Level Resources are found in the District M-STEP Prep presentation. Please plan your lessons accordingly for Math, Science, Social Studies, and ELA
- Understand and prepare for the Passage Based Writing portion of the ELA M-STEP. Please be sure to check your grade level folder for examples.

MDE M-STEP Resources and
Online Student Practice
Grades 3-8
As we prepare for the M-STEP this Spring, below outlines the resources and practice opportunities for your students.
1. Review the online sample test items and guidance from the MDE website.
2. Increase student keyboard use and writing fluency using the iPad. Incorporate opportunities for students to demonstrate typing stamina into classroom activities (Writing Tracker).
Please practice the Math and ELA M-Step Assessment with students. These documents can be shared electronically with students as well.
Our goal is to have all students, Grades 3-8, practice their grade specific assessments (click here) during the Month of February and March.
The MDE Assessment Page provides updated resources regarding the M-STEP.
In addition, student's should practice online for the M-STEP using the MDE Online Practice tools. This page includes the answer keys for the online assessments in Math and ELA.
